Job Description:
Job Summary: We are seeking a Senior Level Diesel Technician to
support our Truck Fleet at Ryder in Anderson, SC.
We are looking for a skilled Diesel Technician to join our team. As
a Senior Level Diesel Technician, you will be responsible for
performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including routine
preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and
complex mechanical inspections and repairs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties, including
routine preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs,
and complex mechanical inspections and repairs.
- Diagnose complex mechanical and electronic problems utilizing
diagnostic computer when applicable.
- Complete complex and detailed mechanical inspections and
repairs with minimal supervision.
- Replace defective components as instructed.
- Work unsupervised on most tasks.
- Perform facility maintenance duties.
- Interact with customers/drivers to properly determine nature of
complaint once assigned a task.
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic
documentation available.
- Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance
guidelines (i.e., safety, DOT, MOT).
- Act as mentor for Tech 1 and Tech 2 levels.
- Demonstrate the ability to access and use internal and external
maintenance documents.
- Other support duties as required to support operations.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Vocational or Technical Certification Post Secondary degree or
Technical Certifications, preferred.
- Basic tools, required.
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical
repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including routine
preventative maintenance, basic diagnostics and repairs, and
complex mechanical inspections and repairs.
- Three (3) years or more relevant work experience,
preferred.
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) CLASS A,
preferred.
- All other certification as required by location, required.
