Works on problems of limited scope, following standard practices and procedures with detailed instruction on new work. Participates in project planning sessions, working closely with experienced Data Scientists and other team members to analyze requirements, and provide design recommendations for complex analytical systems. Consults with senior peers with goal of continually building knowledge/experience while minimizing any risk. This role shows a demonstrable interest in technological innovation with a focus on learning to apply standards, developing an understanding of the business, and advancing personal professional growth. Typically requires demonstrated engineering skills, strong mathematical skills normally evidenced by bachelor's degree in a mathematical or related subject.About The TeamAt FIS Cleared Derivatives, we provide mission-critical software and services to institutions across the derivatives industry worldwide. As part of the Capital Markets Division of FIS, Cleared Derivatives addresses the needs of global sell-side and buy-side clients with the industry leading software solutions and services for post-trade processing of listed derivative (ETDs) and cleared OTC instruments. You will join a team of technology engineers and architects focused on data analytics of derivatives processing and market risk.What You Will Be Doing
  • Employ machine learning and statistical modeling to create and enhance data driven products
  • Analyze and extract insights from internal and external data
  • Work with Big Data and transform complex datasets into more usable formats
  • Work with a variety of data science tools and programming languages such as SAS, Python, R, Scala, SQL
  • Work independently and collaborate with other groups to solve complex problems
  • Create and present analyses to internal and external partners and clients
  • Document models and write code to track and monitor models and product performance
  • Understand the realities of model development and make pragmatic and business-aware choices when trading-off sophistication and accuracy versus implementation and performance costs

    • Bachelor's degree in relevant field of study
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
    • Fluent in English; Strong written and verbal communication skills
    • Adaptability, a drive to learn, and strong problem-solving skills
    • Ability to work well independently and within a teamBonus If You Have
      • Snowflake experience a plus
      • PowerBI or similar business intelligence software
