Job Description:
Seeking a Continuous Improvement Engineer to design and specify
advanced electrical, mechanical, and computer-controlled systems,
improve manufacturing support and maintenance programs, and drive
capital projects from strategic planning to implementation.
Design and specify advanced electrical, mechanical, and
computer-controlled systems to improve manufacturing support and
maintenance programs. Develop process specifications, machine
parameters, and plans for scrap reduction and uptime improvements.
Drive capital projects from strategic planning to implementation,
benchmarking best-in-class facilities and implementing world-class
processes, equipment, and workflow.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design control systems for machine tools, including electrical,
pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
- Select capital equipment for manufacturing processes.
- Improve current machine tools to increase uptime, quality, and
productivity.
- Provide engineering support to production equipment and
processes, advising maintenance personnel.
- Establish programs for cost savings activities to support
overall plant requirements.
- Advise on improving preventative maintenance programs.
- Consult with suppliers and internal engineers for continuous
improvement programs.
- Authorize and approve changes to machine tool
programs.
- Train associates on new technologies and manufacturing
processes.
- Maintain and follow Quality Management System and Environmental
Management System requirements.
- Participate in teams and champion team activities.
- Track and accumulate cost savings.
- Develop, maintain, and review Process Failure Mode and Effects
Analysis (PFMEA) as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution.
- Technical knowledge in machine function, processes, control
systems, CNC, PLC, servo drives, stepper motor drives, and
electrical/electronic systems.
- Technical knowledge in mechanical design.
- Detailed abilities in capital equipment justification, project
scheduling, and managerial planning.
- Human relations and mentorship skills.
- Ability to self-manage assigned project tasks.
- Preferred experience in data-driven analysis and
problem-solving methods.
